Boosts the cell-mediated immune response, enhancing protection against leishmaniosis. Effective in maintaining a stable clinical score and improving laboratory parameters: Leish titre, globulins, A/G, CRP and ferritin. Reduces the progression to a clinically manifest CanL. Clinical Study Aim of the study Efficacy of LeisIMMUNE BOOST – nucleotides and lactoferrin- in maintaining stable or improving the clinical picture in dogs seropositive for L.infantum not requiring leishmanicidal and/or leishmaniostatic treatment. Following inclusion (T0), dogs were followed up after 3 (T90) and 6 (T180) months. Dosage LeisIMMUNE BOOST has been administered at the daily dose of 1 tab every 10 kg every 24 hours for the entire 6-month duration of the study. Enrolled Patient Forty owned or kennel dogs of any age, sex, reproductive status, and breed that tested seropositive for L. Infantum were enrolled in the study and randomized into groups T (treatment) and C (control). Result Boosts the cell-mediated immune response, enhancing protection against leishmaniosis. Conclusion The oral administration of LeisIMMUNE BOOST for a period of six months showed to be effective in maintaining a stable clinical score and improving laboratory parameters in dogs serologically positive for L. infantum. Considering anti-L. infantum antibody titres and laboratory parameters, at T180 one out of 18 dogs (5.6%) in group T and nine of 18 animals (50%) in group C developed an active form of CanL. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that this product may have reduced the progression to a clinically manifest CanL. The product was well tolerated and no side effects were reported in any patient during the 6-month administration.
