Description

Ciclosporin exerts anti-inflammatory and antipruritic activity in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. The clinical symptoms of atopic dermatitis, such as itching and inflammation of the skin, are not specific to this disease. Other causes of dermatitis such as, ectoparasite infestations, other allergies that cause dermatological symptoms (ie flea allergy dermatitis or food allergy) or bacterial or fungal infections should be excluded before starting treatment. It is good practice to treat flea infestations before and during the treatment of atopic dermatitis.
