Description
Vitamin C - has an antioxidant effect. It has a positive effect on maintaining the physiological balance of connective tissue, cartilage and bone, as well as the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Increased need for vitamin C occurs in stressful situations (transport, competition), increased intensity of training, convalescence (after injuries, diseases), weakness and allergies. Especially in the period of lack of access to pasture, the possibility of obtaining an adequate amount of vitamin C from forage decreases significantly. Advice: It is especially recommended to enrich the diet of those horses that do not have access to pasture and are in intensive training with vitamin C. The supply of vitamin C is also indicated as supplementation with collagen and / or MSM supplementation in order to increase their synthesis and absorption.
